7,9x7,9 in ~ Pittura, Acrilico, Inchiostro
I introduce you here a small format from early 2018 : "On my earth"
I wanted to create a collection to apply for a special small format exhibition , no more than 20 x 20 cm and square format.
I wanted a common thread for these paintings and I had an attraction for the theme of the elements that comes up regularly in my work.
I looked in a representation that could correspond with the number five because it was asked to present five paintings.
That's how I discovered the representation of elements in Chinese culture: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
Then other reflections followed.
"On my earth" represents the element of the earth.
There is a double meaning for me with this element.
On the one hand the reference to the current state of our planet.
Wars, pollution, bad influences, unbalanced and unbridled nature.
I am increasingly aware in my personal journey to how our lives are closely related to the destiny of this planet and how we can influence its health (unfortunately not often in a good way).
On the other side there is once again this theme frequent in my work of finding our path.
We could say our fate, the one we build with the threads of our choices as well as those of others, of the universe.
That we are rooted to the ground seems to me a fundamental condition to reach that fullness often called "happiness".
There are very few elements in this painting: I wanted it "clean" in colors too.
Precisely to reinforce this impetus towards the essentials which for me is a fundamental condition to find our true path.
Too often we are distracted by many other things, in a world that seems to always go too fast.
I wanted to give something solemn and essential at the same time because for me to travel his way is to find the meaning of his life and there is no higher task for the human being, from my point of view .
To be anchored to the earth, to walk on the bare ground while being naked oneself, without useless additions, rhyme to be anchored in ourself.
It is a kind of transition painting because it is in the middle between a new trend in my work related to the representation of clear and recognizable elements and at the same time the use of forms and nuances that give the story's context without further definition, in a style that already belongs to my past works
It is a painting on canvas board a nice rigid support that measures 20 cm by 20
I like the idea that we can choose to hang it or put it near us
I used solvent inks and acrylic for colors as well as felt pens and black pen. Certain outlines are relieved by what is called a relief.
It is protected by a gloss varnish.
He does not fear the light and does not need a particular maintenance, we just dust it off preferably with a soft feather duster
Medium: inks, acrylics, marker pens and final gloss varnish on canvas board around 3mm deep (nice and hard support)
Ready to hang right out of package
Signed and dated on the back
Coa is provided
PLEASE NOTE : all computer screens vary in color hue, saturation, brightness and contrast, therefore your painting may slightly not look exactly like it does on your screen.
