"Dryad dressed in autumn leaves", 2013
This is a topic that I love and currently comes up in my work
Dryad definition : a dryad is a tree nymph, or tree spirit, in Greek mythology. In Greek drys signifies "oak." Thus, dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.
I feel strongly the relation between roots and human being, the similitude with the tree, the force and being so fragile in the same time
The links between womanhood, divine, trees and roots never stops fascinating me
This was painted in Mimet (France) in December 2013
Wide cm 40
High cm 80
(15,7 " x 31,4" )
I used autumn leaves/leafs as stencils. Autumn is my favorite season , I can't wait to see yellow and red leafs all over again !
